Every conflict we prevent saves a life, a livelihood and a child's future. Every conversation that replaces a fight makes Migori stronger. On 21st September, FUNGUO CBO (Fostering Unlimited Networks For Growth and Outstanding Youth) joins the National Government, the County Government of Migori and our implementing partners to mark the International Day of Peace under the theme: "Invest in Peace: For Everyone, Everywhere, Every Day." As a youth-led organization working across all sub-counties of Migori, we know that young people are not only the future of peace. They are its builders today. Peace is also carried by the women who hold communities together, the elders who guide us, and the leaders who serve with fairness. It starts with you, in your home, your market, your stage and your village. 🔎 Peace and the right to know This season we also mark Universal Access to Information Day, and 2026 is 10 years since the Access to Information Act was enacted in 2016. Where people are informed, rumours lose their power. Where public institutions are open, trust grows, and trust is the foundation of peace. Under Article 35 of the Constitution and the Access to Information Act, every citizen has the right to request information held by public entities, on budgets, projects, services and decisions that affect your life. Ask. Follow up. Hold institutions accountable, peacefully and with facts.
