*VKANNEH BLOGER | COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT NEWS 🎬 DARU TOWN WITNESSES A HISTORIC DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE FOR WOMEN FISH TRADERS ❤️🙏* Daru Town, Jawie Chiefdom, Kailahun District — November 7, 2026 Yesterday marked a remarkable and memorable moment for the people of Daru Town and the entire Jawie Chiefdom as community stakeholders, women fish traders, development partners, and local representatives gathered at the Youth Center in Daru Town for the official launching of an important community development project. The project, titled “Empowering Women Fish Traders Through a Sustainable Solar-Powered Cold Chain System in Daru Village, Jawie Chiefdom, Kailahun District,” represents a significant step toward improving the livelihoods of women engaged in fish trading while addressing the persistent challenge of fish post-harvest losses. Supported by the UNDP GEF Small Grants Programme and implemented by the Kortuna Agricultural Association, this initiative seeks to strengthen women's economic empowerment through sustainable and environmentally friendly technology. For many women fish traders, this project is more than just an intervention; it represents renewed hope, economic opportunity, dignity, and a brighter future for their families. The introduction of a solar-powered cold-chain system is expected to contribute meaningfully to fish preservation, reduce unnecessary losses, and improve the economic activities of women traders within the community. Beyond the fish-trading initiative, the gathering also provided an opportunity for discussions surrounding the proposed construction of a community coroom in Daru Town, further demonstrating the growing commitment toward community welfare and development. As the people of Jawie Chiefdom continue to embrace development opportunities, this initiative reminds us that meaningful progress begins when communities, leaders, and development partners work together with a shared vision. VKANNEH BLOGER extends heartfelt appreciation to the UNDP GEF Small Grants Programme, Kortuna Agricultural Association, community stakeholders, women fish traders, and everyone whose dedication continues to contribute to the advancement of Daru Town and Jawie Chiefdom. May this project become a foundation for greater opportunities, stronger livelihoods, and sustainable development for generations to come. ❤️ WOMEN'S EMPOWERMENT IS COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT! 🤝 DARU TOWN DEVELOPMENT IS OUR COLLECTIVE RESPONSIBILITY! ✍️ VKANNEH BLOGER Voice of the People | Advocate for Community Development 🎤📸 Beloud
