Goods and household items worth millions of naira have been destroyed as a result of fire that ravaged some shops in Gbagi market in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital. He said, "Upon arrival, the crew met some shops engulfed in flames, with thick smoke billowing from the affected areas. "No casualty was recorded. However, eight (8) big shops were affected by the fire. "The timely intervention of the agency prevented the fire from spreading further, thereby averting more extensive damage to property. "It was, however, observed that access to the affected area was significantly hindered by illegal structures and goods obstructing the access roads within the market, making it difficult for firefighting trucks to gain free passage to the scene," he said.
