Twenty years ago, this community laid to rest the woman we called our prayer warrior. To me and my sister Lilian, she was simply Mom. Much has been said today about her remarkable legacy - to our family, to this community, and to the nation. I have taken up that mantle and committed myself to the cause of education, because I truly believe Kenya can provide free education from primary school to university. This is not a belief that lives only on paper. Throughout my years of public service I have championed greater access to education, and today that commitment continues through the Kalonzo Musyoka Foundation and the thousands of young people whose education we are proud to support. As we remember the values Mama Malia taught us, we must also think about the Kenya we are leaving to the next generation. The IEBC itself puts the cost of the 2027 General Election at KSh63.95 billion. We cannot spend such an enormous sum preparing for an election while serious constitutional questions remain unresolved. My message to the IEBC is simple: Do not subvert the wishes of the majority of Kenyans. You actually subvert the sovereignty of our country. The young people will never forgive you. We must protect the election before Kenyans vote - not litigate its credibility after the results are declared. Beloud
