Recruitment for 2027 entry-level roles will open from late September. HSBC has today announced plans to support 1,500 early-career opportunities in the UK across 2026 and 2027, helping to develop the country’s future skills and broaden access to careers in banking. Building on the recruitment and training already offered this year, HSBC plans to recruit 1,000 entry-level roles over the period, comprising apprenticeships, graduate programmes and internships. The bank is also offering 500 in-person, one-week work experience placements over 2026 and 2027, designed to give secondary school students earlier exposure to the workplace. The 1,500 opportunities are open to applicants across the UK and support the Government’s focus on earlier access to technical skills, increasing work experience, and providing stronger links between young people and local employers. Our work experience placements combine hands-on workplace learning with practical activities to develop wider employability skills, such as communication, teamwork and confidence in a professional environment. Students also gain valuable experience learning about digital technologies and how AI tools support employees’ day-to-day work. The announcement builds on HSBC’s wider commitment to develop next-generation talent globally. This year, the bank has welcomed thousands of people worldwide through a range of entry-level roles.
