Arrangements are at advanced stage for Tansian University to float both Colleges of Medicine and Pharmacy, respectively. Disclosing this during an interactive session with the academic staff of the University at its Law auditorium, the new Acting Vice Chancellor Professor (Hon) DN Carter Umeoduagu explained that the Teaching Hospital has been approved and domiciled at Regina Caeli Hospital, Awka, which at take off will be known as "Tansian University Regina Caeli Teaching Hospital, Awka". Professor Umeoduagu who admonished the staff to work assiduously towards moving the University forward to become one of the best citadels of learning in the country, however warned against indulging in gossip, corruption and activities to malign the reputation of the "Univetsity" which he said, is a faith-based institution. The University Chief Executive who expressed the determination of the administration to improving the welfare of staff, also disclosed that the University has successfully recovered its website which was hitherto moribund. The Acting Vice Chancellor cautioned itinerant lecturers who move between two or more Universities as part time and full-time lecturers, to desist forthwith, as the action of the administration may not be palatable to them. He also reiterated the resolve of the University authority to peg the retirement age of the academic staff to 75, while those on contract to renew their contract annually or forfeit their appointments.
