Regarding Starmer's resignation... No one (in the media at least) seems to be discussing - or even acknowledging - the elephant in the room. For the next few weeks - maybe months - Britain effectively has no leader. Yes, Starmer was an abysmal prime minister (& his replacement will almost certainly be no better) but at least he was a figure to blame, & someone (albeit unlikely) to steer our country through a crisis. But, throughout June & July, if the shit hits the fan (war, natural disaster, civil unrest, etc) Britain has no one with the authority to do anything about it. That wouldn't be as big a problem if our government had the respect & support of the electorate during a leadership transition - but it obviously doesn't (unlike either Thatcher's government or even Blair's). So... If anything nasty kicks off - for whatever reason - we are left with only our armed forces (which would barely fill a football stadium) & our police (more corrupt & politicised than at any time in their history) to protect our country & it's native people. I guess our only option is to keep our fingers crossed & hope for the best - but maybe prepare for the worst at the same time... Beloud
