In the wake of Henry Nowack's horrific death we're hearing again about 'unconscious bias'. So, what is unconscious bias? It's simple... it's a human instinct shared by all races, & can not be 'removed' or educated away because it's a fundamental survival responce humans share with almost all other species. It is, & always has been, extremely useful because it enables us to recognise & be more likely to trust those who appear similar (therefore familiar, & likely less of a threat) to us, whilst being wary of those who appear different until we know we can trust them. Regardless of race, we all share this essential bias. It is impossible to remove, & attempting to do so is causing inevitable significant cognitive & practical problems - which we're seeing right now throughout the West. Even suggesting it can be removed is nothing but woke political nonsense. We cannot change what it means to be human, & those who think we can are an increasing threat to society & need calling out for their stupidity. Beloud
