French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot is set to speak with his counterparts from all eight countries targeted by Donald Trump's new tariffs this evening, according to a French official. The official says the minister spoke on Saturday to British and German foreign ministers as well as representatives from the EU, immediately after Trump declared that eight Nato allies would face 10% tariffs on exports to the US from February, rising to 25% in June. Now, the official tells reporters, Barrot "will be in contact by this evening with all foreign ministers of the countries affected by the tariffs".
