神戸・東灘区の老舗和菓子店「虎屋吉末」では、無病息災を願う夏の和菓子「水無月」の製造が最盛期を迎えています。旧暦6月の水無月にちなみ、夏越の祓(6月30日)を中心に食べられます。氷に見立てた白いういろう生地の上に小豆を乗せた涼やかな菓子は、7月上旬まで販売されます。
